I'm not sure if this is a New Game+... The ONLY way to access the Paladin character class and quests is through an imported character from a previous QFG game. There is no regular New Game Paladin to reference. With the "Paladin" tag, this is kind of implied.

[TECHNICAL DETAILS & STARTING NOTES]

The game was recorded using FRAPS at 60FPS.  It is the GOG.com release, at 10,000 cycles.

This 100% run of the game involves getting the maximum score of 500 by the end.  The different classes have special things they have to do for points.  The Fighter must fight one of every enemy.  The Thief needs to do an extra questline.  The Wizard has to learn every spell and fight a special battle.  The Paladin has quests that ONLY the Paladin has access to.  I want to thank God for the little bits of extra time I get where I can work on perfecting my runs of my favorite series.

The ONLY way to play as a Paladin in this game is to import a character.  There are no base-level New Game stats for a Paladin, so what this means is that you are expected to bring in your stats from a previous game.  With no stats to reference, I interpret this to mean the Paladin comes to Quest for Glory with REAL ULTIMATE POWER.  Therefore, his stats are maxed out for an imported character, with the exception of Climbing for points, and Acrobatics which was introduced in this game.

[TIMING]

Timing starts when the first dialog box appears.  Timing ends when you touch Erana's Staff to the crystal (this is also where the last points are awarded).

[CHARACTER CREATION]

All points go into Acrobatics.  Acrobatics makes one room during the end game very quick.  Also, I leave Climbing empty.  The reason is that the Paladin receives a few points for learning Climbing from a book, which are required for this category.

[BEGINNING]

The opening involves setting speed, getting the items in the room, the torch, and leaving.  I grab the Sword and Shield and run from the fight.  On the way out, I grab the Dark One Symbol, use Trigger on the Squid Stone which saves a few seconds of animation, use Force Bolt and Fetch to get the Bonsai Bush.  I rest for 60 minutes to move time to day.

[FOREST]

I stop and grab Flowers from the tree, and these flowers only appear during the day.  These will be used for the Rusulka questline which is required for 100%.  I then head up to town and get some Corn on the way.

[TOWN DAY 1]

I immediately get the items that I need to buy from the shop.  One notable additional purchase from any other category is the broom, which is also required for saving the Rusulka.  I get the Adventurers' Guild Key from Dmitri (he offers it on your second encounter with him, so I had to wait).  I then head into the Adventurers' Guild.  In the Guild, I read the books, learning Climbing but also what is necessary to solve the Leshy's puzzles.  I also grab the Fine Sword, which deals a bit more damage which saves time, as well as the Grapnel, and start exercising.  All of these give points except for the Fine Sword.

I then head to Dr. Cranium's lab, stopping on the way to talk to Nikolai.

[DR. CRANIUM]

You have to do the TRAP puzzle twice for additional points.  The maze is annoying.  I get through the Door, and learn the Glide spell, and some empty flasks.

[FOREST DAY/NIGHT 1]

I get to the Leshy first, and answer his first two questions for points.  You have to wait to plant the Bonsai Bush or else you miss 2 points.  On the way to the Swamp, I encounter a Vorpal Bunny, which gets in my way.  I head down to the swamp on the left and get a Bone which ends the encounter, and the rest until night before heading into the Swamp.

Glide is just amazing here.  I head south and now have the question of how to handle the Chernovy Wizards.  I engage the first one and use the 'Flame Dart' spell after a bit of fumbling to end the fight quickly.  Since I am still gliding, I instead land and kill the other one outside of combat.  With both dead, I get the scroll.  My normal skip involves clicking the outside edge which skips the puzzle, but also skips the points, so I have to do the puzzle.  Luckily, it's easy with the difficulty turned all of the way down.

Afterwards I head up, get the Will-O-Wisps, solve the Squid Stone, get the ritual and two bottles of Grue Goo.

I start to introduce myself to ghost and wait to learn her name until I'm on the way back.  I then head down to the Elderberry Bush and get the berries, completely avoiding the Revenant on the way.  I also kill the Master Wraith and get Piotyr's Sword and a Dark One Ritual.  I head to Erana's Garden to plant the Bonsai Bush now that I no longer need it (and also gives more points).  I swing past the ghost to learn Anna's name, and levitate over the wall and rest with the ghost at the Staff.

[TOWN DAY 2]

I am convinced that talking to Dmitri multiple times eliminates game-breaking glitches on Day 5.  I tell Nikolai about the ghost.  The door evolves a new password every entry, but since I already have the points, I just click the '?' button which bypasses the puzzle.  I then visit Dr. Cranium again.  You MUST visit him three times.

[FOREST NIGHT 2]

I head into the forest and do the next Leshy riddle for more points and to learn the Baba Yaga phrase even though I end up not using it.  See below.  I head down and rest until night, and reunite the ghosts.

Next is Baba Yaga.  I head down to her hut, but get too close to the bush and am probably clicking the lips icon on the bush instead of myself.  In the end, frustrated, I just quickly cast Trigger which doesn't take much longer; maybe a two seconds of loss here.  You can skip an entire dialog tree with her and get all of the points by doing things this way: cook the pie and you will automatically enter the hut.  I needed the Corn to get points, however, so you have to feed the hut first.  Next is all making the pie, giving her the pie and re-entering to get the Dark One Ritual.

I then head back to town to sleep.

[TOWN DAY 3]

I get into Dr. Cranium's lab again using the '?' button to skip the bells, and give him the recipe for all three potions, because solving each gives you points.  I then rest until night to avoid a couple second cutscene with Igor the gravedigger and enter the Monastery.  Everything in here goes as expected; rehydrate the orange Domovoi, get into the basement and get the last Dark One Ritual.

I then head to the Inn to get the gnome his humor.  You have to grab the Rubber Chicken for a few extra points, and I rest until it is after midnight, where it says, "You're getting tired."  I head out and talk to the Domovoi twice, which bypasses having to meet him a second time and grab the doll.  I then rest through the night.

[TOWN DAY 4]

This day is useless.  I sleep through it.

[TOWN DAY 5]

Thankfully, the townsfolk are there, and that means the game can progress without any more hiccups or glitches.  I save Igor and use the Eye icon on both of the graves near him.  Elyssa is the name of the Rusulka and Janos was her murderer.  You need to know this to save the Rusulka.  I head back to have Dmitri tell me that he has released the Gypsy.

[FOREST DAY 5]

I head to the Gypsy Camp, solving another Leshy riddle on the way.  At the Gypsy camp, I learn from Magda how to save the Rusulka, and have my fortune read for more points.

[FOREST DAY 6]

I head back into the Gypsy Camp to learn the Destiny Spell, which you learn on your third encounter with them (hence the exit and re-enter).  I solve the last two Leshy riddles.  I then head into the Crypt using the Open spell, and leave immediate which gives you points.  I head back in, get the Borgov Key, and head into the Castle.

[CASTLE]

I go through the fastest route, Calming the Badders and moving through using the Open spell.  I rest until night at the base of Tanya's room, give the doll to Tanya and save the little girl, getting Erana's Staff also.

[DAY 7]

Is not necessary.  I rest through it.

[FOREST DAY 8]

Here is the time to save the Rusulka.  I head down to the lake and give her the flowers and head back in and out, and tell her about the cure.  I check, but the right dialog tree isn't in her menu, so I leave and re-enter and get a lock of her hair to put into the Broom.  I then head up to the graveyard at night, and use the hair/broom on the graveyard and fight Janos.  He goes down relatively quickly.  I then head back to the Rusulka and kiss the corpse.

The rest is clear sailing.  I get captured by Ad Avis, wake Katrina and head back into the Castle to trigger the end game.

[DARK ONE CAVE REVISITED]

You can completely avoid the Pit Horror by casting Calm.  The only time this doesn't work is with a Thief, so Stealth is used instead.  Levitate gets me down and back up quickly.  I get the last ritual, head up, and do the rest of the rituals.  I save the world along the way, too.  Estimated time, if my recommendations above are used, is 37:45.

[POTENTIAL TO SAVE TIME]

Better handling and better RNG.  This was a smooth run, with no serious hiccups.  As always, thanks SDA!
