Hello Oddworld Fans! Welcome to my any% single segment speedrun of Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty done in 24:12 in RTA.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a ground-up remake of Odddworld: Abe's Oddysee. There is a glitch in the game which rtsmarty found, and it's like the DDG from Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, but Abe can survive high ledges. There is one extra bonus to this glitch. If you press the restart checkpoint hotkey, Abe will respawn. But if you press it more than once, Abe can teleport! Also, if you bind two keys together to the restart checkpoint hotkey, Abe can teleport much faster than just a single press of a button.

Below, here is my key configuration that I used throughout the run. It is based on classic controls from Abe's Oddysee but I made the teleport buttons easier for my hands.


Level Comments


So in the first level of the game, you can press restart checkpoint before the level loads. This skips the entire cut scene where you see Abe falling into the factory. Abe hoists up to the ledge because since the level hasn't loaded properly, if you restart checkpoint, Abe performs a teleportation glitch which is used a lot throughout the entire run. I do the glitch whilst the Sligs are shooting me to get the invincibility glitch working. Now that Abe is invincible, I can do every level up to the Panamonian Nests in this state. Just like the DDG in Abe's Oddysee, Abe can survive Sligs and Slogs but in New 'n' Tasty he can't survive explosives. He can survive electric fences and high ledges this time!

Stockyards Escape

This chapter was straight forward thanks to the use of the invincibility glitch, but once Abe gets into the Free Fire Zone, there are tons of UXB's and land mines! One step in and he is dead forever!

Monsaic Lines

In this level, you can get past all the mimics. There are teleport glitches done here and there is a frame perfect jump that rtsmarty discovered. Abe can't jump into bird portals whilst he is in this glitch but jumping over the wall saves 45 seconds which is a neat time saver to use.


I restart checkpoint before the level loads to skip it's loading cut scene. Then I can complete the stage quicker than an alive Abe can. There is also some nice teleport places here as well! There are also new areas where you don't need to ride on Elum and you don't need to do the password with both native Mudokons.

Paramonian Temple
This stage is also done using the invincibility glitch and teleport glitch. Abe still had some land mines and UXB's to dodge, but he manages to survive them!

Paramoanian Nests

I had to restart chapter here because Abe can't complete the level using the DDIG glitch because there is a bird portal at the end of the stage. Scrabania is skipped.

Stockyards Return

This level is straight forward. The only difficult thing is jumping over land mines. But once you jump after hoisting up the ledge after getting the DDG with the Slog, you shall successfully jump over the land mines and the UXB without fail. I had to set up the DDG here so I could do the remaining chapters up to to Boardroom without the need for setting up the glitch again.

The Zulags were very fast thanks to the use of the invincibility and teleport glitch.

Here I had to restart chapter to make Abe come back to life again. Now, Abe finishes the boardroom as fast as possible. The meat grinders were are struggle to get through and jump over land mines, but thanks to QuikSave, I didn't waste so much time.
