Hey Dudes and Dudettes!

Welcome to my any% run of Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus!

First I need to thank Dooty here for his PSX TAS and some new tricks and strategies for most of the levels in this game. Plus I need to thank Sligfantry for his any% run. Without Dooty finding these small improvements, the run would never be done! I would also need to mention that I needed more segments that what Sligfantry needed because the stop 'n' turn trick and the diagonal fall glitch are the hardest glitches to perform and in some parts of the game it took me forever to find the right programming for the NPC's. Trust me. Try doing what I've done and you'll experience the same problems as I have when making this run. The diffrences between the PSX and PC versions are the frame rates. In the PSX version there are some places in the game where frames can drop but in the PC version it has a constant frame rate and you don't need to swap discs in the PC version.

Finally, after 2 years of Sligfantry being the record holder for the any% category of this game, I was able to beat him thanks to some new tricks and strategies used in Dooty's new TAS run. Even whilst the TAS was in the works, I was able to start right away thanks to Dooty providing me some Work in Progress movie files which are available to the public on the TASVideos Forums. I encoded them so I could watch them and learn the new tricks as I went along!

I present you a new trick which requires Abe to roll, Stop 'n' Turn and hoist. Doing this saves some frames whilst hoisting up. This is also done is numerous places to save time other than hoisting ledges.

Another reason why I could beat Sligfantry is that Dooty found some new auto-turn shortcuts which Sligfntry missed and Abe was able to complete the Glukon Zulag in Hub 1 with just one Glukon this time instead of two. I had to do this door a little bit different to how Dooty did it as the method he did it was pretty much impossible to do in one take. For real time, Dooty told me to have the Sligs to the right of the voice box as the further away the Sligs are from the Glukon, the easier the trick will become.

It seems that I have all the best times now for both Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus. Now I'll have to play and start speedrunning the PC version of Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty and aim for a personal best. I will also be updating the 100% runs for both AO and AE on the PC version once I have achieved a good time for Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty. Any questions? You can contact me on YouTube or the SDA forums.
